Project

After Agriculture: the Soil Carbon Sequestration Potential of Agricultural Land Abandonment

Description

Agricultural landscapes undergo significant above- and belowground ecosystem changes following the cessation of intensive cultivation. Improvements in soil health after agricultural land abandonment entail climate change mitigation co-benefits. This project investigates the factors influencing soil carbon sequestration rates on post-agricultural soils at the field, regional, and global scales.
